Elevate Your Style: Top 7 Tips for a Textured Capsule Wardrobe

Adding texture to your wardrobe could be a way to make your outfits more interesting. Consider the following when creating a texture focused capsule wardrobe.

Choose your color pallet

Everyone has a unique color pallet that best represents them. It is recommended that you review a color wheel or try on several colors with varying intensities, ie pale vs. vivid. Determine the top 4 colors which you feel best compliments your skin complexion and make a note of these. You will want to incorporate these colors into your newly curated wardrobe.

Discover your style

When considering your style, consider cost, your lifestyle, your daily activities, and climate. If you are a busy mom your wardrobe might look different from a college student, whose wardrobe might appear different from an actress. Consider browsing online magazines or researching popular clothing brands to see which clothing styles and fits resonate the most with you.

Choose your favorite texture

While considering your style, consider which clothing textures also best resonate with you and your lifestyle. For example, in colder climates consider incorporating wool, boots, or leather within your wardrobe. Cotton and silks can often be used in milder climates. While linen textures are often worn in warmer environments.

Select core items

Once you have chosen your color, style, and favorite textures begin to select your core clothing pieces. Core items can include anything from dressy blouses, skirts to pants depending on your lifestyle.

Incorporate accessories

As they sometimes say accessories can make or break your outfit. For a textured focus wardrobe you could consider interesting pieces such as a quilted purse. You could also consider adding textured tights or panty hoses, some shoes also have interesting textures.

Review and curate

Finally review the pieces you have selected, ensure that the pieces that you have selected can be combined with other pieces within the selected group. Continue to refine.
